Why bikes beat vans in Central London

Our riders aren't a green compromise — they're the faster option. E-bikes cut through lunchtime traffic for 30-minute deliveries, and one cargo bike replaces a van run by carrying a whole team's group order in insulated bags.

How the fleet works:

  • E-bikes for individual on-demand orders across 15 postcode areas
  • Electric cargo bikes for batched group and catering orders, split across riders when an order outgrows one bike
  • Scheduled collection windows so restaurants hand over once, not fifty times
  • Motorbikes and vans for the largest catering orders, where a bike run will not fit

Cooked to order, nothing binned at five

WRAP finds two thirds of hospitality food waste happens before anyone eats: 45% in preparation and 21% in spoilage, against 34% left on plates. That is the cost of cooking to a forecast. Ordit partners cook against orders that already exist, so companies replacing a cafeteria with recurring group orders give employees a different restaurant each day, with no kitchen infrastructure, no staffing and no end-of-day tray nobody claimed.

A restaurant starts a meal when somebody orders it. There is no speculative batch sitting in the pass waiting for demand that may never arrive.

Every meal pre-selected

On a group order each person picks their own dish in advance and it arrives individually labelled. No shared trays, so nothing is left congealing at 2pm.

Catering to a real headcount

Office catering is ordered against a confirmed headcount and a budget per head, not a room-sized estimate with a safety margin piled on top.

Unspent budget buys nothing

A meal budget nobody uses produces no food and costs nothing. A standing catering contract bills for the trays whether the team turns up or not.
